Autumn Spice Cookies

I just found this easy cookie recipe and thought I'd share it. I made them for my class on Sunday and they seemed to like them.

1 package spice cake mix (2 layer)

1 stick ( 8T) softened butter

2 large eggs

1 C quick-cooking oats

1/2 C raisins

1/2 C granulated sugar

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease baking sheets.

In a large bowl combine butter and eggs, beat with an electric mixer set at low speed until smooth and creamy.

Add spice cake mix and oats to butter mixture; mix well. Stir in raisins. Shape into 1 inch balls.

Mix the sugar and cinnamon in small bowl. Roll balls in mixture. Arrange on baking sheets.

Bake until lightly browned, about 7-9 minutes. Cool on baking sheet for 1 minute. Transfer cookies to wire racks to cool completely.

Makes about 4 dozen cookies.

I didn't add the raisins and made mine bigger, so I didn't quite get 4 dozen. Also, I was out of cinnamon, so I made them with pumpkin pie spice and they were still great.

Splash Time

Yesterday my sister, Jenna, and I took our kids to San Tan Village to play in their splash pad. The kids had so much fun. The girls were a little bit cautious at first. They weren't sure if they wanted to get in the water.

Pretty soon everyone was in the water and having a great time.

After all the kids were soaked they cuddled up in their towels and did some sun bathing. When it was time to go, we all got lunch together and went to play at Grandma's house. Where Caitlin colored all over their leather couch with ballpoint pen. But that's another story for another day. Thanks Jenna, Kyler, and Brooklynn for a great day!

Moosey Girl

I did Caitlin's hair like this yesterday. The first thing she said when she looked in the mirror was, "Mom, I a moose." She went around all morning telling people she was a moose. I thought it looked cute. Judge for yourself.

Caitlin

It has come to my attention that I never post anything about Caitlin. I'm not sure why. I guess the other two have been monopolizing camera time lately. What can I say about Caitlin? She is the sweetest little girl and is so passionate. When she loves things, she really loves them. Nothing makes Caitlin happier than dressing up like a princess and having a tea party. Except maybe dancing and singing to a Snow White song. Right now it's Snow White, she rotates princesses. Caitlin is afraid of all fuzz and string on the ground. She will do anything with her big brother and loves to hold her little sister. She is our little princess.
Oh, and her hair is always crazy!

Pat, Pat, Pat

Ethan looooves the Little Einsteins! By the way, can anyone tell me why my pictures aren't clickable? I can't figure it out.

McBabies

This is just a page I made of Avery eating her first McDonald's. Just bits of a hamburger bun.

Our Little Soccer Star

Ethan's team had a great soccer game today. We scored lots of goals and had lots of fun. Ethan scored three goals! We were so proud of him. Here is how happy he was after he made a goal. And you can't tell, but this is another goal that Ethan kicked. After all that, the best part of the day for the kids was when Daddy took everyone to McDonald's for lunch. Chicken nuggets and the playground. What could be better?

Mom, Lets Look at My Friends

Ethan's favorite thing to do is look at his friends on their parents' blogs. Everytime I'm on the computer, he comes in asking to see his friends. He thinks it is so great. He even likes to look at people he doesn't know. So, I apologize if our name comes up a lot on your blog tracker. We have a blog addict at our house.

Avery Can Feed Herself

I can't believe how all of a sudden Avery is growing up so fast. Yesterday I was out of baby food, and I thought "great, what am I going to feed her?" So, I tore up a bunch of little pieces of crescent roll and put them on her tray. She went right for them and was so excited to eat by herself. I imagine she was probably capable of feeding herself for a while now (seeing as how she puts everything in her mouth), but I never tried to have her do it. Hahaha. I just turned around and found Avery on the floor eating toilet paper. Oh, the joys of motherhood. I guess she's ready to try new things. She has also started making games lately. Like lets throw everything on the ground. And she tried to put her socks on by herself yesterday. I can't believe she even knew where they were supposed to go. Apparently, I'm trying to hold on to my little baby and she's growing up too fast.

Avery has also learned that she likes the taste of her toes. I often find her in just this position.

Avery's First Tooth

Well, it's about time. We've been waiting for months for Avery's first tooth and it finally popped up yesterday. She is 8 months and Ethan and Caitlin both got their's at 6 months, so I've been waiting. For the last 4 months whenever she was cranky or sleeping bad we always said "maybe she's teething". Apparently she was not, and that was just her disposition. :) But now it's here and there's no going back. I'm going to brace myself for the biting, now. Congratulations Avery! What a big girl.

General Conference

We had such a good Conference weekend. We were all still a little under the weather, but not too bad. It was so neat to be able to sustain the new prophet. I don't know if I was there when they sustained Pres. Hinckley, but I don't remember it. I always end Conference with a newly remembered list of all the things I need to work on. Oh well, line upon line, right? Ethan kept busy during conference by drawing pictures of the speakers. This isn't all of them, but most of them looked quite similar.

I'm not sure why, but Ethan drew most of them wearing polka dots. We tried to have the girls nap during a lot of conference. And everyone was actually pretty good. Ethan had a soccer game during part of the first session on Saturday, so I had Bryce take him and I stayed with the girls. So, of course Ethan kicked his first goal, and I missed it. And there is no picture. So sad. Oh well, I'll have to see the next one.
