Happy Birthday Noelle!

Happy Birthday Noelle!  Our littlest girl is three!  She's a big girl now.

She was so excited to help make her own cake and decorate it, too.  What a great helper!

My kids are growing up so fast.  Noelle has such a personality!  I'm not sure what to say about her.  We'd sure notice her absence.  She's a fiery, sassy, and strong little girl.  We're so glad she's ours.  And I'm sure someday I'll figure her out.

She's three now, so she gets to use the big potty!  She got some My Little Pony underwear.  If you know Noelle, you know that ponies are serious business, and that The Lion King is her one true love.  I love how much she loves things.  She is a passionate, lovely girl.  Happy Birthday!

Daddy Daughter Night

The girls love it when Daddy Daughter night comes around.  And this year Noelle got to go, too.  They were supposed to dress 50's, but I had no poodle skirts, so we made do.  They sure are cute anyway.  They were so excited to go!

A picture with their Daddy!  They ran around and wore dad out and had tons of fun.  What a great time!

Swingin'

Preston went swinging for the first time today.  He shared a swing with his sister and they had a great time!  If you know me, then you know I HATE pushing swings!  They usually get about 10 pushes and I'm out.  But, how can you not keep pushing when you get to see these little faces light up?

They were so so so happy!  I wanted to push them forever just to see those big smiles and hear those little giggles.  Even in the 90 degree heat.  I love those cute kids!

Happy Birthday Noelle!

Happy Birthday Noelle! Bring on the Terrible Twos!

Noelle had a fun low-key birthday.  We had peanut butter chocolate chip sandwiches and played at the park.  It was nice.

When Dad got home the party started.  I think she was excited about her cake.

I swear! That girl has the best expressions! She is sooo funny.  This next picture was the disbelief and the love she felt for her present.  She was so happy.  Sleepy Time Dora = hit.

Happy Birthday Possum Pie!

Oh, and her 2 year stats:
Weight: 24.2 lbs (10-25%)
Height: 33.75 in. (25-50%)

Smartie Noelle

Is there a correlation between sticking things up your nose and brain power?

I wonder, because our little Noelle is one smart cookie.  She can already recognize and say almost every letter in the alphabet, count to 13 and recognize 1-9.  I didn't teach her any of it, so it must be Sesame Street.  I'm not sure at what age they should know those things, but my other kids weren't this soon.  She is one smart, curious, wild, and strong little girl.  She brings such awesomeness to our family!

Deprived

So, you want to know why my poor children are deprived and have been banned from certain art supplies? Why it will be a good long time before I see another marker in this house?

 Ask Noelle.

And ask my carpet.

It's been scrubbed within an inch of its life today.

...But I Still Love Technology

Always and Forever.

Noelle and her cousin Tyce are pretty easy to keep occupied.

As long as you have a smart phone, ipad, or similar elmo-playing device. What cutie kids.

Some People Will Sleep Anywhere

Just a minute ago I heard some heavy breathing coming from upstairs. I walked up to find this waiting for me.

I guess when you're tired you're tired. There's no reason that the top of the staircase won't do.

It's Not Easy Being a Big Sister

Oh, how sweet!

This picture was taken about 30 seconds before Noelle took the block in her hand and whacked her brother with it. Good and hard, too. On the head.

It's hard adjusting to being a big girl. We'll keep working on it.

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Why is it that every time I turn around I find this baby on top of something or making a mess of something?

I don't know. I've never had a kid like this. I do think that it might be related to how she ends up like this.

18 Months

Noelle is 18 months old and has grown a ton since her last appointment. Her new stats:

Weight: 21 lbs. 12 oz. (15%) Up 4 lbs in 6 months
Height: 32 inches (75%) Up 2 inches in 6 months

She's getting bigger every minute, or maybe it just seems that way since I'm getting bigger every minute....

I can hardly hold her anymore. Poor girl.

I'm A Big Girl Now!

Today is the day! Noelle is 18 months old today and gets to start nursery at church! It will be a nice two weeks with no babies to look after at church. Haha. Luckily newborns don't usually cause too much trouble. Right?

Right?

15 Months

Miss Noelle is 15 months old. She is becoming slightly more coordinated. I have no proof of this, except that we haven't had too many accidents lately. Besides when she got her finger slammed in the door yesterday....

We finally moved her up to forward facing. She's not yet 20 lbs, but she was just too long for the infant seat, and I am recovering it for baby boy. And sometimes I take a long time to sew things.

Unfortunately this happened about a week before they started the new carseat recommendations. Rear facing until two?! Oh man! I promise I'll drive carefully.

Noelle had a rough doctor's visit. Double ear infections, wheezing lungs, 3 shots, and not much growth. Her stats:

Weight: 18 lbs. 2 oz.
Height: 30.25 in.

So, they gave her a steroid shot in the office, a prescription for antibiotics, and directions to do breathing treatments at home. She has only grown 6 oz. and no inches since her birthday(3 months ago). I'm not sure what the deal is there, but we are hoping it is partly due to her not feeling well(she also got two new teeth in the last couple weeks). We go back to the doctor in two weeks. Wish us luck.

Good thing she's so cute, for all the trouble she gives us. She is feisty and fun and sweet. Love that girl!

Will She See 2?

Noelle had a rough week last week. She is getting into everything and exploring everywhere lately. I don't know quite what to do with her.

Wednesday
Noelle had about three accidents falling off of a plastic chair of the kids. One of them resulted in this:

If you can't see it very well, she broke off the bottom of her top front tooth. She hardly cried at all, and she's eating fine, so we're hoping that it will be okay. She may just be a little funny looking until she's 6. Thank goodness for Orthodontist friends that you can call and cry to. And yes, I'm a mean mom for making her take this picture. I think that was the most traumatizing part of the whole event to her.

Thursday
Noelle fell down the stairs at our house. I'm not sure how many, because I didn't see it happen. I just heard it, and found her in a puddle at the bottom. She seemed okay after a few minutes of cuddling. For the record, we did buy a baby gate, but it doesn't fit, so we need to get a new one.

Friday
Never leave a 5 year old to help a baby in from the car. I was carrying a bunch of stuff in from the car, so I asked Caitlin to hold the door while Noelle walked in. Bad idea. Next thing I know, Noelle is screaming because the door between the garage and the house is closed on her arm. And not the doorknob side either, the hinge side. I don't know how that happened. It looked really bad at first. I thought she might have broken something. But here is how it looked after a few minutes:

Please don't think I'm a negligent mother. It's just been a bad week for her...and me. :)

Here's hoping that number 5 is sweet and calm and never gets into anything.

Happy Birthday Noelle!

Our baby girl is 1! The kids just keep growing faster and faster! And this little lady is so grown up. She always wants to be part of the action. She's walking some, and is all over the place, getting into everything. She can say thank you, banana, mom, dad, all done, yeah, and more.

I have never had a kid so interested in their first birthday! She wanted to open the presents and actually seemed excited about everything she got. Usually I have to open all my one-year-old's presents. I wonder if Christmas was a good trial run for her.

Trying to try on her new sweater.

Noelle blowing out her candle... well the rest of us blowing it out at least.

And Noelle trying out her new walk. She's been kind of half walking for a while now, but doesn't seem to want to do it full time.

At her Dr.'s appointment she was 17 lbs. 12 oz. (5%), and 30.25 inches (95%). Am I ever going to be able to put her forward facing?!

Noelle is 11 Months

I haven't really updated on Noelle for a while. She's really growing up. I can't believe she'll be 1 next month. She sure acts like it too. She definitely thinks she's one of the big kids. She has two teeth now, can stand alone, and has taken a couple steps. She loves to say da da da and ma ma ma, but I only get the ma ma ma when she's sad. She loves Bryce to pieces and cries whenever he leaves the house. She eats everything and is pretty feisty. I'm excited to see who this little girl turns into.

6 Months

Noelle turned 6 months while we were in Utah, and today was her doctor's appointment. She is:

15 lb. 3 oz. (25 %)
27.5 in. (90 %)

So, tall and thin, so far. She is sitting up pretty well now and rolling around like crazy. She gives kisses now, but so far mostly to Mom. She also is really busy and active. She loves to kick her legs (especially in water) and grab at anything she can reach. She is such a happy baby and is always smiling. Our vacation did a number on her sleep schedule, though. So right now we're working on that.

P.S. I looove Utah grass!

4 Months

Noelle was 4 months old on Monday. She had her doctor's appointment today and she is growing so big!

Weight: 13 lbs. 8 oz. (50%)
Height: 25 in. (75%)

She was our shortest at birth, so we weren't sure if she'd be tall like our others. So far she's doing pretty good, but still not as big as her siblings.

At 4 months:

Ethan: 17 lbs. 10 oz. and 27 in,
Caitlin: 14 lbs. 0 oz. and 27 in.
Avery: 15 lbs. 7 oz. and 26.5 in.

Noelle is rolling over (front to back) and laughing and cooing now. She is so much fun. And last night she slept 8 hours straight! Yay! Hopefully we can keep that up.

And in related news: My "Girl 3-6 month" box has gone missing. I can't find it anywhere and I've searched the house from top to bottom. I think it might have accidentally ended up with the DI stuff. I could just cry thinking about all those cute 3-6 month outfits that I might never see again. Plus, what is Noelle going to wear for the next three months? Woe is me. I guess I'll just keep looking.

Cousins

Noelle wasn't the littlest in the family for very long. She already has two new boy cousins. They will have so much fun playing when they get older.

Noelle and Tyce Lovell
Born March 11th to Bryce's sister, Becky.

Noelle and Cameron Randall
Born April 18th to my sister, Sara.
Hooray for Cousins!

First Haircut

Before

Noelle's hair was getting a little wild. It was black on the ends and lighter underneath. And it is curly and goes every which way. Bryce didn't approve, but I decided to trim it anyway (sorry, hon). I didn't take off too much and she still has a lot of dark left. I think it's just a little less crazy looking now.

Here's the hair I cut off.

After

And yes, she is a drool monster.
