Just For Kicks

Ethan and Caitlin just started soccer and their first game was today. They both did really well. This was the first year that Ethan has played on the big field. And his games are longer now, too. I was worried that he wouldn't make it through, but he did great. He scored a goal and had a great time.

I was so impressed that Caitlin actually played. I was sure she was going to be the kid running around chasing butterfies. And she made the first goal for her team. Just don't tell her it was in the other team's goal.

Thanks to everyone that came out to see them play. And thanks to Michael and Bethany for the pictures. Mine were not great. I wish I had a cool camera....Oh, and some talent.

Aaargh!

Ethan had a little party today with some of his friends. It was a Pirate Party. Thanks to Lindsay for the good ideas.

Ethan's pirate ship cake.

Some scary looking pirates.

I think their favorite part was at the end when I let them all "walk the plank" over and over and over again.

Blarney

We had a fun time the other night celebrating St. Patrick's Day with some friends. We mostly ate a bunch of green food and talked.

Come on, Scott. Where's your green?

Wet and Wild

Ethan and Caitlin started swimming lessons again. Last year was very traumatic for Caitlin, so I was worried about how it would go this year. It has actually been pretty great. Ethan is so good and listens well. I don't ever have to worry about him. Caitlin has been really happy and excited to go. The first day she had a couple issues, though. She really wanted to run all over the whole pool area and make everyone chase after her. Every time I looked over I saw one of her instructors dragging her back into the pool.

Here is Ethan with his class. If you can't tell which one is him, just look to the light. Geeesh! That kid is fair!

Ethan loves, loves, loves his goggles. They get put on at home before swimming and don't come off till it's time to go home.

This is Caitlin and her friend, Kaitlyn, from her dance class. They were excited to see each other at swimming, too. Caitlin calls her "the other Kaitlyn". As in "Hi, Other Kaitlyn".

Avery has been doing great, too. She just sits in the stroller and eats her snacks. And luckily, my friend Kim has her kids in swimming too. So that means I have someone to talk to.

Mesa in the Springtime

Today I took the kids over to the Temple to look at all the pretty spring flowers. My kids wanted to know the name of every flower, and luckily I knew a good amount of them. Thank goodness for my mom and grandmother. I also told Caitlin about how snapdragons will snap at you if you try to pick them. What? That's the story I heard when I was a kid. Caitlin did not look amused.

The kids sat on the petrified wood.

Caitlin found her very own baby orange that had fallen off a tree. She loved it and cuddled it and then she bit it. It is now smushed into the temple grass, discarded and forgotten.

Avery slept in the stroller for most of the tour, but got out at the very end to play in the sunshine.

A side note. After repeated warnings from Mom, Caitlin only picked two temple flowers. And if you know Caitlin, you'll know how crazy that is. My little girl is growing up.

Happy Birthday Ethan!

Ethan turned 5 today! Wow, that's a big one. What am I doing with a five year old? Ethan has been talking about being five since he was three. He can't wait for kindergarten.

So, we finally got going and got Ethan a bike for his birthday. He loooves it. I don't know why we waited so long to get him one. I guess I didn't want to have to be outside. It was really nice this morning, though. He also had his first wipeout, which he took pretty well. He scratched up his knee, but didn't seem to mind.

His sisters got him his favorite "Charlie and Lola" book. We are really big on "Charlie and Lola" over here.

And here is a short video of Ethan figuring out how to get his bike moving. He actually caught on pretty quick.

Tiave's Birthday

I forgot to post these, but a couple weeks ago was cousin Tiave's first birthday. The kids loved that Aunt Sadie brought such fun toys to play with.

The kids playing T-Ball.

Ethan in the "Wheel of Death". Yeah, I don't really know what it's called, so I named it myself.

My favorite shot of Avery.

Cousin Jadyn, Caitlin, Ethan, and Cousin Tai waiting for a taste of that yummy cake.

And the birthday boy. It looks like it was good cake, just ask Tiave!

I'm Gonna Be A Supermodel

Thanks so much to our friend, Crystal, for taking pictures of the kids on Friday. They turned out so good!

Her website Cal Artistry has some other great photos on it, too. She is doing a photo a day every day this year.

And thanks to Bethany for making the cute flower hair clips in the girls hair!

I can't believe that Crystal got so many good shots. I can't get my kids to look at the same time for anything.
