Get That Pig!

Soooo...some of the boys in my family went hunting for Javelina.  Bryce went with them and I think he had a good time.  It was pretty cold, but they're tough guys.  Bryce didn't bring home any Javelina, but he did shoot a pretty good sized rock.

They got stampeded by a couple Javelina.  This is the one that didn't get away.  And down below Brick shows off his kill.  Head on over to their house for some pig sausage.

Preston Being Big

I'm not sure how it happened, but Preston grew up today. Yes, all in one day. He turned 7 months today and overnight became a big kid. I really can't believe it.

Preston learned to sit up a few weeks ago, but today he sat up and played at the park with the kids.  He just played in the sand like a real kid. 

Preston standing up in the shopping cart after cleaning the playroom today.  No, he didn't help clean, but he has been with us all day and seems to be more aware of what we are doing.  And he's standing up!  Yes, holding on, but STANDING UP!

Preston playing in Ethan's room with Legos today.  He seems to really enjoy being with the other kids.  Also, today he graduated to 2nd foods baby food and ate 2 whole containers.  Maybe I've been starving him with those tiny 1st food containers, because he gulped those down.

Anyway, I know these aren't major, significant things.  But I just all of a sudden had this feeling of him growing up today.  Of the baby floating away, and being left with this BOY!  I sure will miss having babies around, but if it's possible, I love him even more now.  I can't wait to see who he turns into. 

Happy Valentine's Day!

We went with Pop Rocks Valentines this year. I got the idea from I Am Momma Hear Me Roar.  The kids liked pretending to be rockstars for their photo shoots.  Avery had a hard time holding the bass guitar, but it still went okay.  Thanks, Bryce, for the props!

I feel a little bad about taking over the valentines.  I know the kids like to be creative and do their own thing, but when Mom gets an idea....

Anyway, their valentines said "valentine, you rock!", the teacher ones said "you're a rockin' teacher!", and Avery's bus drivers got ones that said "you rock the bus!" and they all had pop rocks inside.

Maybe next year I'll try to let my kids be creative.  We'll see.  I hope everyone had an awesome V-Day!

Jog-A-Thon

I love the school jog-a-thon!  I think it is so nice that they encourage the kids to do physical activity, especially since they don't have a ton of PE time.  I love watching my kids run in circles.  :)

I love my kids' school.  I am so thankful for all the great experiences they've had there.  And I love being there and being a part of it.  I feel like I miss out on a lot of who they're becoming.  It's so fun to see them in action!
