Wolfman Bear

One of the best things about turning 8 is getting to go to Cub Scouts.  I know absolutely nothing about scouts, but we're excited to figure it out and have fun!  Ethan had a great time at his first activity.  Shooting marbles and Nerf guns.  What could be better?

Happy Birthday Ethan!

He did it!  Ethan made it to 8!   He has been waiting for this for a long time.  Lots of exciting things happen when you turn 8.  Ethan can't wait to be baptized and start Cub Scouts!  And, in our family, when you turn 8 you get to stay up until 8pm!  (The rest of the kids go down at 7, I know you're all jealous.) 

Ethan loves sharing his birthday with St. Patrick's Day.  Everything needs to be green for his birthday.  Green waffles, green cake, green shirt.  What?  Green shirt is two sizes too small?  That's okay.  It's his favorite (Thanks Crystal!)

Ethan even got his very own brand new scriptures.  In green. 

And he got a hailstorm for his birthday party the next day.  Crazy Arizona weather.  Last year it was 91 degrees on his birthday and this year it was almost snowing. 

Happy Birthday Ethan!  We love you and are so proud of the boy you've become. 

Lost Tooth

This is one of the last pictures I took of my little girl.  Just hours later she lost her first tooth and became a kid.  The baby pieces of her are starting to fall out and before I know it, she'll be a teenager!  She was SO excited!  She's been talking about losing a tooth for a year now.  She was so proud.  And she just pulled it right out herself, with no complaining.  Awesome!

And even better, the next morning she found her gold dollar left by the tooth fairy.  I heard the tooth fairy had a hard time prying her tooth out of her little hands while she slept.  Congratulations Caitlin!

The Pork Shop

What's that? You still haven't been there since the last time I told you to? Well, get to it. $1 brats (every Saturday in March) and running around fun for the kids. This was Preston's inaugural visit.

The Phoenix Marathon 10k

Yay! My 10k is complete!  I did it!  I ran a 10k.   I can hardly believe that I can run at all, because 6 months ago I couldn't run to the mailbox.  It is still super hard, but look at these shiny things they give you if you finish!

It was FUH-REE-ZING when we started!  I got there at 7am and it was 37 degrees.  I guess I can't technically call that freezing, but it was dang cold.  It felt nice once I started running, though.

 I finished the Phoenix Marathon 10k in 1:03:59 or a 10:19 mile pace. I'm so glad it went well. I was 18 out of 37 in my age group. So, pretty much right in the middle.  I feel comfortable there.  I wouldn't want to make others feel bad by being too fast, you know?  Next up, Utah Valley Half in June!  I'll let you know if I don't die.
