Superhero Breakfast

Ethan's school just had their Superhero Breakfast. It was to celebrate the superheroes in their lives(parents, teachers, etc.). The kids got to bring their whole family to have breakfast with them at the school. They got to eat with their parents and teachers and they had a little program.

It was so fun for the girls to eat in the cafeteria with Ethan.

I didn't buy a breakfast for Noelle, so she ate all of mine from her stroller.

Ethan, with his principal. I'm pretty impressed with him so far. He seems really involved and has a lot of fun with the kids. Hooray for people who work hard for my kids!

Happy Birthday Ethan!

Ethan turned 7! Aaah! Why are my kids doing this to me? Ethan is so grown up and responsible now, and while I love the help, I miss the little boy. Ethan is really turning into a great big kid. I am so thankful to have such an awesome 7 year old!

Ethan got to pick a couple friends to take to the movie theater. They saw Megamind and ate a ton of popcorn! I think he enjoyed not having his sisters along. Haha.

Ethan got a new big kid bike for his birthday. The little one just wasn't cutting it anymore. Hopefully this one will last him a while. Too bad it's almost summer weather already. We'll have to get some riding done before it gets too hot.

Ethan will have his cake with family on Sunday, so he blew out his candles on his birthday pizza. It was his choice for dinner. He also got to pick lunch for the whole family and chose McDonald's. Hmm...I think I need to eat some carrots.

Riparian Preserve

It's March! That means it's starting to get too hot to hang out outside. We decided to visit the Riparian Preserve before it got unbearable. We went with my mom and sister, Jenna. We missed you, Sara and Cameron!

We went on a little nature walk, where Grandma showed and told the kids about the hummingbirds and butterflies. The kids got to explore the creek and tried to spy little creatures in the trees and brush.

The kids loved the binoculars! And they were pretty good about taking turns. As long as Caitlin was first....

The best part: eating and relaxing in the shade. My mom brought us a feast and my kids ate a ton. Noelle had three sandwiches, two string cheeses, apple chips, and too many cookies! Maybe she'll get big after all.

She spent most of the day in her stroller, but we let her out at the end to play.

The kids had a ton of fun playing with their cousins and running around crazy. Caitlin is our little monkey. She'll climb any tree she can find. I wish school was out more when it was nice weather. It sure is fun to play and enjoy the outdoors!

Thanks Mom and Jen!

And Kyler, Brooklynn, and Josslyn!

It's A Boy!

It's official, number 5 is a boy. We had our ultrasound today and there was no mistaking. We are so happy and excited and really feel like this little boy will complete our family. And even the score around here a little bit.

Everything else looked great. He seems healthy and normal in every way. He is about 10 ounces and I'm measuring about the same as my due date. He is a little stubborn, though. It took about 10 minutes to get him to turn for a profile shot. He was very comfy the way he was, thank you.

Now comes the hard part...boys names.

Will She See 2?

Noelle had a rough week last week. She is getting into everything and exploring everywhere lately. I don't know quite what to do with her.

Wednesday
Noelle had about three accidents falling off of a plastic chair of the kids. One of them resulted in this:

If you can't see it very well, she broke off the bottom of her top front tooth. She hardly cried at all, and she's eating fine, so we're hoping that it will be okay. She may just be a little funny looking until she's 6. Thank goodness for Orthodontist friends that you can call and cry to. And yes, I'm a mean mom for making her take this picture. I think that was the most traumatizing part of the whole event to her.

Thursday
Noelle fell down the stairs at our house. I'm not sure how many, because I didn't see it happen. I just heard it, and found her in a puddle at the bottom. She seemed okay after a few minutes of cuddling. For the record, we did buy a baby gate, but it doesn't fit, so we need to get a new one.

Friday
Never leave a 5 year old to help a baby in from the car. I was carrying a bunch of stuff in from the car, so I asked Caitlin to hold the door while Noelle walked in. Bad idea. Next thing I know, Noelle is screaming because the door between the garage and the house is closed on her arm. And not the doorknob side either, the hinge side. I don't know how that happened. It looked really bad at first. I thought she might have broken something. But here is how it looked after a few minutes:

Please don't think I'm a negligent mother. It's just been a bad week for her...and me. :)

Here's hoping that number 5 is sweet and calm and never gets into anything.

Jog-A-Thon

Ethan's school had a jog-a-thon yesterday to raise money for the school. The girls and I went out to watch him and had such a fun time.

They had a Blackhawk helicopter land right before school started and all the kids got to watch it land on the field and go inside to see it.

Caitlin and Avery by the tail. They went inside, but it was CRAZY! I think I lost Avery in there for a full minute and a half.

The race start. Ethan is right behind the kid in the white shirt.

Here he comes. He ran hard. After the race I could tell that he had inherited the red-running-face from me. Poor kid.

As they passed by the start they got marked with how many laps they did. They earned money for the school based on their laps. Ethan got eleven! He doesn't remember doing that many, but he did awesome either way.

His prize for his hard work. Yummy! Great job Ethan!

Toothless?

Last month (Jan. 20) Ethan finally lost his first tooth. Yay! He lost it at school eating lunch. We were glad it finally came out, because the new one had been waiting in back of it for some time. So we never really got to see him with a tooth missing.

He got a gold coin from the tooth fairy (a Sacajewea dollar) and everyone was happy.

This is just the beginning, isn't it? How many more years until I'm done waiting for teeth to come in or come out?
