Memorial Day

For Memorial Day every year we kind of have a routine. Cemetery, BBQ, swimming. This year ended up a little different. My parents car was in the shop and we couldn't get all of us to the cemetery, so we decided to just BBQ and swim. But first, the kids needed some box time. What is it with kids and boxes?


My parents just moved and don't have a pool anymore, so I brought out our kiddie pool. It's about time, too. That thing has been sitting in a box in our garage for three years because we've never had any grass to put it on.



The kids had a great time jumping and flying off the slide and into the pool. It kept them entertained for a looong time. The babies didn't want to get in the big pool, so they toddled around and sat in a big bucket of water for a little while.



We finally lured the kids out with treats. Frosting covered sugar cookies. Yumm.



It was so great to just hang out with family and have a good time. I'm so glad that my family is close by and we can see each other all the time.
